The School of Medicine and the Department of Anatomy
The Department of Anatomy’s primary mission is training professional, graduate, and undergraduate students in the anatomical sciences with recently remodeled facilities in the School of Medicine’s Robbins Building and in the Samson Pavilion on the Health Education Campus (HEC). Consistent with this role, the department has multiple state-of-the-art large-group and small-group dissection facilities. As an anatomical gift center, we also have facilities for embalming and storage of cadavers. We also have pioneered the use of augmented reality (AR) in anatomy education with facilities for using the HoloAnatomy curriculum located in the HEC. Local Resources
The nearby Cleveland Museum of Natural History (https://www.cmnh.org/) is a world-class institution with large research collections in anthropology, archaeology, botany, geology, paleontology, and zoology and houses the Hamann-Todd Osteological Collection that includes >3100 human skeletons and over 900 primate skeletons, with additional non-primate osteological and a large collection of hominin fossil casts.
