COLOR USE

The web templates use colors from the approved university color palette. A variety of options are available to allow for flexibility.

The basic template groups are available in nine colors (see Download the Tools for options). The design uses the nine different colors in the masthead and for page headings. The offical Case Blue is reserved for the logo and for the active state in navigation elements. Neutral colors complete the design.

The advanced template groups are available in nine color combinations as well (see Download the Tools for options). These groups all use a gray masthead and incorporate the color into the horizontal section navigation bar, page headings, and sidebars. The offical Case Blue is reserved for the logo and for the active state in navigation elements. Neutral colors complete the design.

Please note: Choose one color scheme for your site and use it consistently. Color combinations should not change randomly from page to page. Instead, use color combinations to group and divide content groups appropriately. For example, consider Academic Department X and its parent College. Although related, these two units publish two independent websites. Therefore, each site may use a distinct color scheme to indicate to users the two separate content groups. However, pages wthin the Academic Department X site follow a single color scheme.

Do not alter or substitute colors in the templates. All other color combinations are at the discretion of University Marketing & Communications.
