Eldred Hall is used for offices, classrooms, and productions of the Theatre department. It also is the home of the Actors Company, a summer professional repertory company. Several generations of Adelbert and Mather alumni remember Eldred for the snack bar that occupied its basement for many years. Eldred Hall was given to Adelbert College as a YMCA building by the Reverend H.B. Eldred, a retired clergyman. An addition constructed in 1939 to house programs in theatre was a gift of the Rockefeller Foundation.
