From Nobel laureates to new-tech innovators, Case Western Reserve University faculty are preeminent researchers and teachers, whose expertise bridges disciplines and inspires students to think beyond the possible.
Nearly all of Case Western Reserve's 2,600+ full-time faculty members hold doctorate or other terminal degrees in their fields, and the 9:1 student-to-faculty ratio ensures students the opportunity to learn and conduct research right alongside their instructors.
A strategic leader in Cleveland's cultural district of University Circle, Case Western Reserve also offers students extraordinary access to learn from and partner with world-class practitioners — who just happen to be on the payroll — in the arts, industry and medicine, among others.
How do faculty think beyond the possible?
In early 2010, Case Western Reserve University faculty, along with students, staff and alumni, stepped before our cameras to explain how they are changing lives with their ideas, pushing boundaries and breaking down barriers.
This collection of vignettes comprises the university's 2008-09 Annual Report.
Explore each their stories — from the origins scientist to a humanities champion, neighborhood-revitalizationist to a couple of sustainability experts — and return regularly (new videos are added all the time) to learn how our faculty think beyond the possible.
