SAGES Central

The renovation of quad-level Crawford Hall--the home of SAGES Central and the new SAGES café--has created a novel, highly visible center for intellectual and social activity at the heart of the Case campus. The design includes work areas and conference space for visiting fellows, faculty, and students; a glass-walled seminar room, equipped for technologically enhanced communication and instruction; and an upscale café that serves Peet's Coffee, remains open at night, and is staffed by baristas whose expertise in preparing espresso is matched only by their authoritative knowledge of all things SAGES.

Please Stop By!

SAGES Café is open from 8am to 9pm, Monday through Friday, as well as for special events -- for example, the "Study late, drink cheap!" event on Wednesday, May 3, when the cafe is open for quiet study until 1 a.m. If you can't be here in person, you can still take a peek inside via our online camera.

The SAGES Seminar Room

This Technology Enhanced Classroom is home to seminars, colloquia, and other events all through the week. It seats about 20 people comfortably. SAGES events and classes have first priority for use of the space, but otherwise the space is available for other university events. If you would like to reserve the SAGES seminar room, please email us to enquire about availability.

SAGES Administration and Fellows

The offices and work areas of SAGES Fellows, Presidential Fellows, and the SAGES administration are all located in SAGES Central as well.

The Philosophy Behind SAGES Central

SAGES Central is intended to act as a physical hub for the social and academic life of SAGES. You can read more about the theory and practice of this multi-use space in our notes on SAGES and "third places" here.
