Gum
disease bacteria linked to preterm birth in mice
A
team of researchers, led by a Case Western Reserve University microbiologist,
has discovered that a bacterium found in oral periodontal disease
enters the blood, targets placentas and amniotic fluid of pregnant
mice and triggers preterm or term stillbirths and infant deaths.

In what could be the largest, public wireless service in
the world, Case Western Reserve University is opening more than
1,230 Cisco Aironet 1200 Series wireless access points, providing
free Internet access to faculty, students, staff and visitors
to the Case campus and University Circle.

order to build more and stronger relationships with University
Circle and Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University has
created a new Center for Community Partnerships to be directed
by Jacklyn J. Chisholm, the University's newly appointed
associate vice president for community partnerships.
Library
fund grants faculty wishes for new collections
Christmas could be coming early for some Case Western Reserve
University faculty, courtesy of an innovative program at the
University Library. Through this new Library Opportunity Fund,
the University Library has developed a grant program that awards
to faculty items from their "wish lists" of interdisciplinary
resources not normally collected within the library's acquisitions
policies.
