The Case Advanced Power Institute at CWRU has been awarded a three-year, $1 million grant from the United States Army under the Department of Defense Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative.

Breast cancer study looks at stem cell transplants, chemo
High-dose chemotherapy coupled with a stem cell transplant do not improve the outcomes of postoperative patients with advanced breast cancer, according to a study at the CWRU School of Medicine and Ireland Cancer Center at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

Flight nurse camp to address emergency response training
The National Flight Nurse Academy, a partnership between CWRU's Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing and Cleveland's MetroHealth Medical Center, will offer the nation's first-ever "summer camp" for training flight nurses and emergency service personnel in terrorism and emergency response.

First campus community service day set for Sept. 17
President Edward M. Hundert is extending an invitation to staff, faculty and students to participate September 17 in the University's first Campus-wide Community Service Day.
