CWRU President Edward M. Hundert announced today three key appointments
to his leadership teamchief financial and administrative officer,
vice president for human resources, and vice provost for enrollment.
"We're continuing to put together an outstanding team to move CWRU
toward becoming the most powerful learning environment in the world,"
Hundert said. "These key appointments are a testimony to the University's
commitment to diversity and our commitment to looking nationally for
the best and brightest administrators, while also recognizing the national
stars we already have at CWRU."
Hossein Sadid, a 23-year veteran of a number of financial and operational
responsibilities at CWRU, has been named chief financial and administrative
officer, effective July 1.
He will serve as the principal steward of the University's human, financial
and physical resources, overseeing human resources, campus planning,
the controller's office and related business offices, including treasurer/investments
and internal audit. He also will serve as a member of Hundert's executive
cabinet and as a senior adviser to the president and to appropriate
committees of the CWRU Board of Trustees.
Sadid, a certified public accountant, currently serves as vice president
for business and controller and has also been serving as chairman of
the University's new Supplier Diversity Initiative Council, which was
formed in June 2002 to expand opportunities for minorities and women-owned
businesses at CWRU.
He holds a master's of business administration in accounting and finance
and a postgraduate certificate in management information systems from
CWRU.
Christopher Munoz, of Dayton, was appointed vice provost for enrollment,
effective July 1.
The vice provost will provide comprehensive leadership to meet the
University's undergraduate enrollment objectives and will lead the development
and execution of a broad strategic plan to recruit and retain a strong
and diverse student body. Munoz also will be responsible for overseeing
the offices of undergraduate admission and University financial aid.
The vice provost will report to Provost and University Vice President
James W. Wagner.
Munoz, vice president for enrollment management at the University of
Dayton since 2001, has 30 years of professional experience in enrollment
management officesstudent recruitment, admissions, financial aid
and the office of the registrar. He has served in an enrollment management
capacity at Dayton since 1992, and also has held similar positions at
California Lutheran University, Humboldt State University in California,
the University of Oregon and the University of California, Irvine.
He holds a bachelor's degree in theater arts from California State
University, Fullerton and a master's degree in counseling psychology
from the University of Oregon.
Tony Kinslow comes to CWRU as the new vice president for human resources,
replacing Earl McLane, who retired in April after 11 years as the University's
chief human resources administrator.
Kinslow, whose appointment is effective June 16, has served as director
of employee relations for the California Institute of Technology (Caltech)
for the past two years. At CWRU, Kinslow will develop human resources
policies and programs covering organizational planning and development,
employment, education and training, employee relations, compensation,
benefits and employee services.
While at Caltech, Kinslow's responsibilities included disability and
leave administration and served as Caltech's affirmative action officer.
He previously worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as director
of human resources, overseeing employee relations, labor relations,
staffing, temporary services, training and organizational development
before being selected as executive director of human resources for Vanderbilt's
affiliate hospital, Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital.
A native of Nashville, Tenn., Kinslow holds a bachelor's degree in
economics from California State University at Sacramento, a master's
degree in international relations from the University of Southern California
and a law degree from Vanderbilt School of Law.
He also serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard and
has 21 years combined service with the active Air Force and Air National
Guard.
