Food drive concludes tomorrow
Educational Support Services and Material Support Services are
conducting a Harvest for Hunger food drive through April 4. All
nonperishable foods are welcome.
The six most needed items are peanut butter, tuna fish, beef
stew, boxed pasta, canned vegetables and canned baby food.
Donations can be made in the lobbies of Adelbert Hall, Baker,
Cedar Avenue Service, Peter B. Lewis Building, Thwing Center,
Tomlinson, Yost and the security desk of the Biomedical Research
Building.
Farm garden plots are available
Twenty garden plots are available for rent this spring and summer
at the University farm.
The plots, which are 30 x 20 feet, are located behind the chicken
coop at Squire Valleevue Farm. The rental cost, which includes
water, hoses and space in a garden shed for tool storage, is $20
each.

Panel to discuss just war
Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities will host a panel discussion
on the history and meaning of "just war" from 5-6:30 p.m. April
10 in Harkness Chapel.
Timothy K. Beal, from CWRU's department of religion, will preside.
Topics of discussion and CWRU faculty panelists include:

Workshops to cover procedures
The Controller's Office, in collaboration with others on campus,
will be offering workshops on administrative policies and procedures
in April and May.
The workshops, which cover topics ranging from payroll to accounting
to purchasing, are open to all faculty and staff. Space at the
workshops is limited, and spots are available on a first-come,
first-served basis.

Book club discussions slated
The Center for Women book Discussion Group will feature "Their
Eyes Were Watching God" by Zora Neale Hurston May 7 and "Dust
Tracks On The Road" by Zora Neale Hurston June 4. All meetings
are from noon to 1 p.m. in Crawford 720. To learn more, contact

Tai chi class to be offered
Patricia Adler, a graduate student in the School of Nursing School
who recently presented a staff development seminar on tai chi,
now will offer an eight-week tai chi class.
The class will be noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays from May 1 through
June 19 in 13 Crawford Hall. The classes on May 15 and June 19
will be in 14 Crawford.
The cost for the class is $30 per person. For details or to register,

Court conducts open session
Members of the CWRU community as well as the general public will
have the opportunity to see a federal appeals court at work when
the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit conducts an
open session at the CWRU School of Law.
The session, which consists of oral arguments before the judges,
will be held on Thursday, April 10, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in room
A59 of the law school. It is sponsored by the law school's Center
for Law, Technology & The Arts, and is free and open to the public.
The Federal Circuit has nationwide jurisdiction to hear appeals
in specialized cases, including patent law and cases decided by
the Court of International Trade and the Court of Federal Claims.
