U.S. Rep. John Conyers Jr. from Michigan (far right) is joined by Louis Stokes and President Edward M. Hundert. Conyers was the guest speaker for CWRU's 2003 Louis Stokes Leadership Symposium on Social Issues and the Community. CWRU established the symposium in honor of Stokes, a CWRU alumnus who served in the U.S. House of Representatives for 30 years and co-founded the Congressional Black Caucus.
