Michael J. Ackerman, assistant director for high performance
computing and communications for the National Library of Medicine
of the National Institutes of Health, delivered the keynote address
at CWRU's Internet2 Day. Participants from all over the United
States came together to review and discuss the cutting edge of
advanced network applications for medicine, science, engineering
and health sciences research and education. The day-long conference
was sponsored by CWRU's Office of Information Technology Services.
Ackerman also is an associate professor in the department of computer
medicine at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
