During a December 17 news conference, (left to right) Charles P. Bolton, chair of the CWRU Board of Trustees; Edward M. Hundert, CWRU president; Fred C. Rothstein, acting president and chief executive officer, University Hospitals Health System (UHHS); and Henry L. Meyer III, chairman of the boards of directors of University Hospitals of Cleveland (UHC) and UHHS, announce the approval of a landmark 50-year partnership to establish a unique and primary partnership between the CWRU School of Medicine and UHC. The goal of the partnership is to promote innovative biomedical education, research and clinical care as the nucleus around which to bring together available resources to develop one of the top academic medical centers in the world.
