New staff council reps elected

Immigrant care to be discussed

The CWRU School of Law and the Universal Health Care Action Network of Ohio will co-sponsor a seminar on access to health care for immigrants and other patients with limited proficiency in English from 1-4:15 p.m. September 20 in Room A59 of the law school.

The seminar is free, but there is a $15 charge for participants receiving continuing education credits, which are available for social work.

CWRU's series of research seminars continues with "Understanding Sponsored Research Contracts" from 9-10:30 a.m. September 20 in the Toepfer Room of Adelbert Hall.

Rosemary Alexander, assistant director in the Office of Sponsored Projects, will speak.

Controller offers workshops

The CWRU Controller's Office, in collaboration with other administrative offices, will be offering several workshops on administrative policies and procedures.

The first session, on general accounting and cashiering, is from 9-11 a.m. September 25 in 13 Crawford Hall. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Women's clubs to host Fall Tea

The women's clubs at CWRU, an association of the University Women's Club and the Women's Club of the School of Medicine, are hosting a Fall Tea from 2-4 p.m. September 26 at the Harcourt House, 2163 Harcourt Drive in Cleveland Heights.

Seminar to explore 9-11 impact

The Frederick K. Cox International Law Center at the CWRU School of Law and Cleveland office of the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights will present the seminar "Learning from a New Reality: The Impact of September 11 on Higher Education" from noon to 1 p.m. September 26 in Room A59 of the law school.

The seminar is free, and a lunch will be provided. Call 368-3304 to learn more.

LASIK seminar to be conducted

Joseph M. Thomas with CWRU and University Hospitals of Cleveland will conduct a seminar, "Are You a Good Candidate for the LASIK Procedure? Everything You Need to Know About the Process," from 1-2 p.m. September 23 in the Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital Amphitheatre. To learn more, call Diane at 844-8553.
