CWRU's Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations has received
a two-year, $200,000 grant from the George Gund Foundation to
support the center's mission of building nonprofit capacity through
education, research and community services.
"I am very pleased by this vote of confidence in the center's
priorities," said Susan Lajoie Eagan, executive director of the
Mandel Center. "This new funding will allow the center to enhance
its effectiveness across all program areas, and will be a vital
ingredient in our continuing success."
The Mandel Center was established in 1984 to enhance the effectiveness
of nonprofit leaders and the organizations they serve through
education, research and community service.
The center, which offers a master's degree in nonprofit organizations
(MNO), was one of the first university-based programs in the country
focused on the education of nonprofit managers. Its MNO program
is ranked in the nation's top ten among more than 200 programs
of its kind by U.S. News and World Report magazine.
The center is a partnership of CWRU's Mandel School of Applied
Social Sciences, Weatherhead School of Management, School of Law
and College of Arts and Sciences.
