Caruso joins CWRU to serve as president's executive assistant

Ellen Caruso has joined CWRU as executive assistant to the president.

Caruso worked with President Edward Hundert when he was dean at the University of Rochester (N.Y.) School of Medicine and Dentistry, where he also was a professor of psychiatry and medical humanities.

At CWRU, Caruso will continue to manage Hundert's calendar and provide other administrative support.

"It's true what they say about Mid-Western hospitality. People on campus and out in the community have made me feel very welcome, and it is truly appreciated," said Caruso, who arrived in Cleveland in July.

A native of Rochester, Caruso worked at the University of Rochester for about 10 years, including five as Hundert's assistant when he was senior associate dean and then dean.

She previously worked in private industry.
