Quad Party celebrates the
'70s
That 70s Party on the Quad, which will feature
airband, costume and karoke contests, is from 4-6:30 p.m. July
26 on the Case Quad. Dinner will be served free to those with
a CWRU ID.In case of rain, festivities will move indoors to the
Tomlinson Hall Gallery.
Registration forms for the airband contest
can be found on the Human Resources Web site and should be returned
to Gail Shipley, 304 Crawford hall, 7047.

Final summer concert
tonight
Thursdays in the Park summer concert series
concludes today with rock group RacerMason from 5:30-7 p.m. in
Turning Point Park.
Wood Catering will serve food fresh from
the grill, and a variety of cold beverages will be available.
Other vendors scheduled to participate include Primerica Financial
Services, the Ohio Independent Film Festival, WRUW 91.1 FM and
the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Additional vendors will
offer jewelry, t-shirts and other assorted decorative items.

Book club sets next meetings
The Women's Coalition Book Club has selected
the next five books it will discuss. All brown bag, monthly meetings
are from noon to 1 p.m. in 720 Crawford.

Maya Angelou; Sept. 4, The Nanny Diaries, by Emma McLaughlin

Cancer research grants
available
The Comprehensive Cancer Center will provide
seed money of up to $50,000 for developmental research projects
that have relevance to cancer and impact on the development of
in vivo cellular and molecular imaging. Interdisciplinary proposals
are encouraged.
The principal investigator must be a full-time
faculty member at CWRU and/or University Hospitals of Cleveland
but does not need to be a member of the Cancer Center.
The deadline for submission is September
30.

Phone books have been
delivered
Ameritech is completing delivery of 2002-2003
directories to campus departments. All departments that requested
white, yellow or business-to-business directories from the Office
of CWRUphone Services should have received them by mid-July. If
not, call 368-3900.
Nord presentations conclude
UCITE's 2002 summer sessions highlighting
the work of the winners of last year's Nord grants conclude July
31 with Jinming Gao of biomedical engineering. He will speak on
his project "Providing Biomedical Engineering Students with a
'Molecular Toolbox'" from noon to 1 p.m. in Baker L-5.
The annual Nord grants are awarded to faculty
for projects that deal with issues of global importance or are
interdisciplinary or specifically enrich the Northeast Ohio community
due to their innovative nature or unique character.

Security sends official
e-mail
Recently, a mass e-mail was circulated to
many campus addresses offering pepper spray for sale. This e-mail
was not initiated by CWRU Protective Services nor was the offer
endorsed by the University.
Protective Services asks that faculty, staff
and students disregard any e-mail related to security issues that
is not sent directly from a member of the Protective Services
staff.
