Registration open for next Mini Med SchoolRegistration is now open for the CWRU School of Medicine's spring session of Mini Med School: "Medical School for the Rest of Us." The series will be conducted from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on five consecutive Wednesdays, April 24 through May 22. The Mini Med School is designed for those seeking lively and informative presentations and discussion about medical research and health. No science background is necessary. Lectures do not include technical jargon, and no examinations are given. The spring series will cover: April 24Rehabilitation Medicine: Restoring Function. Host: P. Hunter Peckham, Ph.D., professor of biomedical engineering and director, Cleveland Functional Electrical Stimulation Center. May 1Urology: Prostate Cancer. Host: Martin Resnick, M.D., professor of urology and chair, Department of Urology, University Hospitals of Cleveland (UHC). May 8Reproductive Biology: Infertility. Hosts: John Nilson, Ph.D., professor and chair, CWRU Department of Pharmacology, and J. Ricardo Loret de Mola, M.D., professor of reproductive biology and chief, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, UHC. May 15Medicine: Medical Errors. Host: David Aron, M.D., professor of medicine and senior scholar, Veterans Affairs Quality Scholars Fellowship Program. Enrollment for Mini Med School is limited to the first 100 people to register. The fee is $75 for the entire series. All sessions are held at the CWRU School of Medicine.
