Kenneth C. Bardach, associate dean and executive director of
executive education at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management
of Northwestern University, has been named new associate dean
for executive education programs at Case Western Reserve University's
Weatherhead School of Management. He begins his new duties January
15
"We feel very fortunate to have Ken Bardach joining our team,"
said Mohsen Anvari, dean of the Weatherhead School of Management.
"We consider him to be a proven star in the field and believe
he is going to move our school forward, not only in the realm
of executive education, but he will also be a major player in
our efforts for continued success through the implementation stage
of our strategic plan."
Bardach will oversee the growth and development of the school's
executive education program portfolio and the management of its
executive education facility, the George S. Dively Building. The
non-degree executive offerings are the center for professional
and leadership development at the Weatherhead School. Through
strategic partnerships, executive education fulfills the diverse
needs for new knowledge and expertise by business executives and
managers.
He holds a doctorate and master's degree in economics and finance
from New York University's Graduate School of Business Administration.
He also received his bachelor's degree in English from Yale University.
In his position at Kellogg, Bardach has been responsible for
management oversight of all Kellogg non-degree program offerings
and of the James L. Allen Center. While at Kellogg, Bardach also
has doubled the annual total program offerings from 69 to 135
and participant enrollments from 2,700 to 5,800. He doubled executive
program revenues and increased profits 120 percent, Anvari said.
He individually designed and developed 15 new senior-level executive
programs. Bardach also held similar deanship programs at the Eli
Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University,
the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Management and
Boston University's School of Management.
"It has not been accidental that the great accomplishments of
Kellogg's MBA program as first in the nation has occurred at the
same time as their dominance in the area of executive education,"
Anvari said. "Likewise, a great executive education program can
reap reams of benefits in every facet of a school's life; we believe
that Ken Bardach has the professional wisdom and the personal
competence to make an even better wheel at Weatherhead."
Bardach also has held business faculty positions at the New York
University Graduate School of Management and was a member of the
Peace Corps.
Weatherhead's Executive Education was recently recognized for
excellence by The Financial Times, which in its 2002 ranking
of Executive MBA programs listed Weatherhead 13th in the United
States and 24th in the world. Weatherhead's Executive MBA program
was also ranked No. 13 in the U.S. News & World Report
2002 Best Graduate Schools issue.
