Four CWRU faculty members from the department of physics joined
the ranks of fellows of the American Physical Society. They are
(front row) physic professors Walter Lambrecht, Kenneth Singer,
(back row) Tanmay Vachaspati and Cyrus Taylor. They were recognized
for their contributions of original research and publications
that advanced innovations in the field of and the application
of physics to science and technology. Annually no more than one
half of 1percent of APS members are elected to the status of fellows.
According to Lawrence Krauss, chair of physics, the election of
four fellows in one year may be a first for CWRU.
