The Staff Advisory Council's (SAC) second annual basket raffle raised $4,105-and with an $895 gift from the Office of the President and Provost-a total of $5,000. This year the donations, more than three times the funds raised in the first raffle, were shared by Joseph Landis School of Tomorrow and Mary Bethune Elementary School in University Circle.

The council unanimously passed a resolution recommending a campus-wide day of service. The Office of the President and Provost is expected to consider the proposal.

At its December meeting, representatives also contributed money to help SAC "adopt a family" through the Center for Families and Children. Donations will help provide underprivileged families with winter coats, hats and gloves.

SAC also announced that it will sponsor a Holiday Vision Forum during which staff can talk with President Edward M. Hundert from noon to 1:30 p.m. December 20 in Frohring Auditorium (105 BRB). Beverages and desserts will be provided.

In other business, SAC Chair Kathryn Howard appointed an ad hoc committee to review successful staff empowerment programs, particularly in finance and administration, and to prepare strategic recommendations for implementing similar programs throughout campus. A report is expected next fall.

Winners in the SAC basket raffle conducted during the benefits fair are: Kurt Fretthold, Patricia Princehouse, Susan Linson, Helen Menke, Karen Lingas, Betty Cernohorsky, Carolyn Solis, Lavenia Ferguson, Bobbie Nenno, Greg Decker, Christine Nielson, Karyn Newton, Lucila Licate, Ana Locci, Malcolm Cook, Kathy Schultz, Caroline Saslaw, Susan Berry, Joe Tepley, Joanne Westin, John Glasson, Carol Horvath, Jim Spalinger, Elyse Heyman, Laura George, Katy Mersen, Bob Beck, Stephany Rafumann, Angelika Szakacs, Cindy Flores, Katy Mercer, Wenda Jelink, Linda Rechlin, Bob Latcsh, April Rodon, Christina Mauhey, Diane Pollock, Rebecca Mason, Tim Hickernell, Myrna Hardy, Rebecca Mason, Kathy Shaw, Elise Lindsay and Rosa Garnett.
