Theater opens in 'Mad Forest'

CWRU's Department of Theater Arts opens its 2002-03 production with "Mad Forest" by Caryl Churchill on stage at the Eldred Theater.

This timely drama is an incisive portrait of Romania during the 1989 Romanian uprising. Churchill reveals what life is like under a totalitarian regime and what results when the regime collapses.

The acting ensemble will include both graduate and undergraduate theater arts majors. The play will be directed by guest director Stephen McCue. Faculty member Russ Borski will provide set and lighting design, with costume design by guest artist S. Q. Campbell.

Performances are at 8 p.m. October 11, 12, 17, 18, and 19, with 2:30 p.m. matinZes October 13 and 20.

For ticket reservations or information, call the Theater Arts Box Office at 368-6262. General admission is $10, with discounted prices of $7 for adults over 60 and University personnel and $5 for students.
