President Edward M. Hundert joined members of the University's
Staff Advisory Council (SAC) at their first meeting of the academic
year.
The new president conducted an informal question-and-answer session
with representatives. Much of the discussion involved the six
topics around which Hundert wants to create a vision for the future
of the University.
The group also talked in depth about best practices for empowering
employees.
In addition, SAC representatives shared with Hundert details
of a mentoring program the council is piloting with new employees.
In the SAC Employee Resource Partnering Program, council representatives
send a welcome letter to new staff members and follow up with
a phone call. The mentors also give new employees a list of important
campus phone numbers, resources and amenities.
