SAC talks to Hundert about empowerment, new staff

President Edward M. Hundert joined members of the University's Staff Advisory Council (SAC) at their first meeting of the academic year.

The new president conducted an informal question-and-answer session with representatives. Much of the discussion involved the six topics around which Hundert wants to create a vision for the future of the University.

The group also talked in depth about best practices for empowering employees.

In addition, SAC representatives shared with Hundert details of a mentoring program the council is piloting with new employees.

In the SAC Employee Resource Partnering Program, council representatives send a welcome letter to new staff members and follow up with a phone call. The mentors also give new employees a list of important campus phone numbers, resources and amenities.
