University Circle and RTA are among five area transit systems that are adding bike racks to the front of buses. Other participants are the transit agencies in Lake, Lorain, and Medina counties. Each rack holds two bikes. The transit agencies unveiled this "Rack and Roll" program July 17 on East Boulevard near Severance Hall. RTA has installed the bike racks on 165 buses that operate in eastern Cuyahoga County, including University Circle. A "Bike and Rail" program is slated to debut in August that will allow passengers to take bikes on rapid transit trains during off-peak hours. University Circle Incorporated has added a bike rack to one of its free CircleLink shuttle buses as a pilot. For more information, call RTA at 621-9500 or UCI at 791-3900.
