Less than half of families asked will not donate a loved one's organs for transplantation. Prior knowledge of the donation process, how a family is asked, and demographics play important roles in the decision to donate, according to a study from CWRU's School of Medicine.

CWRU researchers are launching a three-year study of an intervention that is designed to reduce healthcare costs and improve outcomes of chronically critically ill patients who are discharged from hospitals. This $1.6 million project is the first to test an outpatient intervention targeting this small but costly patient population.

University Circle and RTA are among five area transit systems that are adding bike racks to the front of buses. A "Bike and Rail" program that is slated to debut in August will allow passengers to take bikes on rapid transit trains during off-peak hours.
