James Wagner has been appointed provost and University vice president, effective September 1. He will be responsible for leading academic operations and services in coordination with President David Auston, and will be Auston's principal deputy in the University's administration. |

Derrick Best has joined CWRU as assistant dean of graduate studies, effective August 14. For approximately five years, Best has used technological tools such as Web page design, database development, statistics analysis, and statistical modeling in his academic advising activities. |

Grover "Cleve" Gilmore has been appointed associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He assumes the position which Samuel Savin vacated upon becoming the college's interim dean July 1, after former dean John Bassett became president of Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. |

Robert Savinell has been appointed interim dean at the Case School of Engineering. The appointment became effective September 1 and will continue until a permanent successor is appointed for James Wagner, who has become provost and University vice president. |
