Louis Adelbert Toepfer, former president of CWRU, died March 6 at his home in Saxtons River, Vermont. He was 80. Toepfer served as acting president of CWRU in 1970-71, then was named CWRU's president in 1971 following a national search. He remained CWRU's president until retiring in 1980. |

Lori Neiswander, a 14-year CWRU staff member, will become the new executive assistant to President David Auston, effective March 29. Since 1995, she has been a managing director of the Weatherhead School of Management's Executive Education Program at the George S. Dively Center for Management Development, where she has been designing, marketing and implementing management development activities for more than 100 area organizations. |

Match Day will be especially memorable for Marie Kaung, a fourth-year student at CWRU's School of Medicine. When she opened her "Match Day" envelope to find out whether she received her choice of residency program, she also found a written marriage proposal from her boyfriend and fellow fourth-year student, David Blossom. The answer was yes, and Blossom slipped a ring on her finger. |
