Williams promoted to associate dean for freshmen

CLEVELAND -- Randall Williams is now the associate dean for freshmen in the Office of Undergraduate Studies at Case Western Reserve University.

Williams joined CWRU in 1996 as assistant dean for freshmen. Previously he had spent five years at the University of Rochester, where he was an academic counselor and administrator of the school's Take Five Scholars' Program.

"The promotion to associate dean recognizes the experience and expertise Randy brings to his responsibilities in the Office of Undergraduate Studies, and the important contributions he has made to CWRU through his initiatives in freshman advising and programming, his outreach to freshmen, his administration of the Pre-College Scholars Program, his service on the University Undergraduate Faculty Admissions Committee, and his active role in activities and programs jointly undertaken by the Office of Undergraduate Studies and the Office of Student Affairs," said Margaret Robinson, dean of undergraduate studies, in announcing Williams' promotion.

Williams received his M.S. in higher education in 1996 from Rochester's Warner Graduate School of Education and Development, focusing on programs such as Upward Bound. His B.A. is from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, where his majors were human development and social relations, as well as French.
