Presidential search committee appointed

CLEVELAND -- Charles P. Bolton, chairman of Case Western Reserve University's Board of Trustees, has appointed a presidential search committee to assist in the search for CWRU's next president. Committee members represent many of the constituencies in the University community, including faculty, staff, students, deans, trustees, and alumni.

Bolton announced the presidential search committee members in a July 30 memo to CWRU faculty, staff, and students. (Click here to read the memo.) The members of the committee are:

The firm of Isaacson, Miller, Inc., has been retained to assist with the search. Consultants from the firm who are working on the search are John M. Isaacson, one of the firm's founders, and Barbara R. Stevens, vice president.

"This marks the beginning of an exciting process to identify the University's new president, a process that is fundamental to Case Western Reserve's future and that of this community," Bolton said. "I hope that you will think carefully about the requirements of the position and the opportunities facing the University, and that you will share your suggestions with us."

Send nominations, along with contact and supporting information, to the presidential search committee, in care of Susan J. Zull, Secretary of the Corporation, Adelbert Hall 317, location code 7010.

The charge to the presidential search committee from the Board of Trustees calls for a complete and broadly based search, with a careful screening of all candidates. The trustees are responsible for the final selection and appointment of the president. Since confidentiality is crucial to the success of such a search, names of candidates will not be released during the process.
