about Case Western Reserve University
The Office of University Communication reports news and information about people, programs, and research at Case Western Reserve University. Through its internal and external communication efforts, the office tells the University's story to the region and nation, as well as to Case's 9,600 students and 4,500 faculty and staff. Case is the largest private research university in Ohio. It enrolls 9,600 students from all 50 states and nearly 100 nations. Case offers educational programs in more than 60 fields of study through its College of Arts and Sciences, school of graduate studies, and six professional schools (engineering, dentistry, law, management, medicine, nursing, and social work). Around 70 percent of current freshmen were in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class, and around 90 percent were in the top 20 percent. Case ranks 12th among the nation's private research universities in federal awards to support research and development. It received more than $200 million in 1998-99 from government, industry, and private sources for research and sponsored projects.
