CARL F. WITTKE AWARD RECIPIENTS
1971 to present

Created in 1964, the Wittke Award is named for Carl F. Wittke, who from 1948-63 was a professor of history, chairman of that department, and a vice president of Western Reserve University. He was a leader in the intellectual life of the University.

All faculty members who teach undergraduates are eligible for the annual award. A committee of students interviews faculty members who undergraduates nominate for the award, and recommends winners.
