to step in stride with Spartan Pride at Homecoming 2002: Parade, pep rally
and Peter B. Lewis Building kick-off concert top list of festivities

CLEVELANDA parade, pep rally and Peter B. Lewis building kick-off
concert in addition to reunions for football and marching band members
are some of the highlights of Case Western Reserve University'sHomecoming
2002 October 11-13.
The theme for homecoming weekend this year is "Get in Stride with Spartan
Pride." Many events are open to the public.
October 11
- 7-8 p.m.: pep rally, student homecoming court to
be announced, Turning Point Park behind Thwing Center, 11111 Euclid
Ave.
- 8-11 p.m.: University Program Board-Peter B. Lewis
kick-off concert; Ray's Music Exchange, a six-piece ensemble from
Cincinnati dedicated to the creation of eclectic and innovative music;
to celebrate the formal dedication of the new Weatherhead School of
Management building; Turning Point Park
- 8-9:30 p.m.: marching band reunion, The Spot, Leutner
Commons, 1619 Mistletoe Drive
- 8-10 p.m.: football reunion, The Huddle, Hall of
Fame Room, Veale Center, north of the intersection of Adelbert and
Murray Hill roads
October 12
- 11 a.m.: homecoming parade, starts at Ford and Euclid
avenues and ends at East 115th Street and Bellflower Road
- 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.: homecoming tailgate picnic,
music by Speakeasy, East 115th Street and Bellflower Road
- 1 p.m.: homecoming football game, CWRU vs. the Maryville
Fighting Scots; homecoming king and queen to be announced, alumni
and student marching bands to perform, football alumni to be introduced;
Finnigan Field, 1605 E. 115th St.
- 7:30 p.m.: Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds concert,
"Sounds of Sousa," Severance Hall, 11001 Euclid Ave.; box seats $30,
general admission $15, students with CWRU ID $5
- 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.: homecoming dance, "Swing 'n' Stride,"
Thwing Center
