Ohio Football Classic-

Message from Kathryn Hall, Director, Equal Opportunity & Diversity,Adelbert Hall Room 310

This weekend Cleveland will be hosting the Ohio Classic Football Weekend.
Case is very much involved in many of these events and activities. The
1:00 Football Game at the Browns Stadium on Saturday will feature two
historically Black College Football Teams Morgan State University and
Savannah State University. Case will host a practice for the Morgan
State Band on the Freigberger Field from 1-2 pm on Friday. We will then
host the Savannah State Football team practice from 4-5:30 at the same place.

As part of the Classic Weekend Patty Austin will perform at Severance
Hall on Friday night at 8 pm. The New Life Community Center who is
hosting the event has generously donated tickets to the concert for the
Tulane Students should they want them. I will have the tickets in my
office later today. Additionally several offices on campus are
purchasing tickets for students to attend the Ohio Classic Game at
Browns Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Again I can make tickets
available to the Tulane Students for this event as well. Tulane is a
historically Black College so the students might be interested in
participating in some of these activities. They would be very familiar with Football Classics.

If you are interested in participating in either of
these events, please contact Kathryn directly at 368-8877.

Support Group for Students Affected by Hurricane Katrina

The University Counseling Service/Collegiate Behavioral Health is offering a support group for students who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina.

This includes students who have been displaced from their home-university and are attending Case, students who were attending Case and who have homes/families/loved-ones in the affected areas, and other students who are experiencing the impact of the disaster and are looking for support.

The group is scheduled to be held during Provost Hour on Thursdays, from 11:30AM - 12:30PM beginning Thursday, September 22. It is scheduled to run every week for eights weeks (through Thursday, November 10th) , depending on the interest and attendance.  This is an open group, which means that students are welcome to attend any of the group meetings, even if they missed any/all of the previous meetings.  The group will be co-facilitated by Jane Daroff, LISW and Rich Pazol, Psy.D.

The group will meet in the International Student Lounge on the second floor of the Sears Library Building.   This is down the hall from the University Counseling Service, the Career Center, and the International Students Office.
