NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

11/21/05 Beginning with the Fall 2005 semester, hard copy grade reports will no longer be mailed to students unless specifically requested. Students who wish to receive a hard copy grade report at the end of the semester, may opt in to the grade report service. This page can also be accessed by visiting our Students page (http://www.case.edu/provost/registrar/students.html) and choosing "Grade Report Requests." Please note that grade reports will be sent only to home address of record, and only once per term, during (or after) the week following the last day of exams. In order to participate in this service, you must opt in prior to the last day of class. For more information, see Frequently Asked Questions.
6/28/04 Comparative Literature (CMPL) courses are now listed as World Literature (WLIT).
6/7/04 Beginning with the Fall 2005 semester, the sequencing of Reading Days and Final Exam days will change. This change applies only to fall semesters. Instead of having two reading days at the beginning of the first exam week, there will be one reading day on Monday of the first exam week and one reading day on Friday of the first exam week. Please see the Fall 2005 schedule in the 2004-2009 Five Year Academic Calendar for specific dates. The decision to re-sequence the Reading Days and Final Exam days for the Fall semester was in response to the wishes of the majority of students and faculty who participated in an on-line poll conducted by the USG. The change also remedies some perceived problems with the existing academic calendar.
8/5/03 As of the fall 2004 semester, the University will designate the Friday, 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. block within the standard Case teaching schedule as the University Community Hour. No required academic activities of any type may be scheduled during this period. Implementing the University Community Hour facilitates student and faculty attendance at campus-wide gatherings and special events, especially those that foster community building at Case Western Reserve University. In order to accommodate the inclusion of the University Community Hour within the standard teaching schedule, the teaching blocks for the afternoons of Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are modified according to the new grid.
5/15/03 Beginning Fall 2003, the exam time blocks have changed. Exams will now be given at 8:30a-11:30a, 12:30p-3:30p, or 4:00p-7:00p. Please see the new schedule.
