The Postdoctoral Researchers Association was established in the fall of 2000 by Lynn Horton and Leslie Matuszewich to foster a productive and effective dialogue between the University and Postdoctoral Fellows. The most recent chair, Brian Hock, continued this tradition but has recently moved on to a teaching opportunity. Their work was also instrumental in the creation of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. The ultimate goal of the Association is to address issues relevant to Postdoctoral Scholars and Fellows, thereby strengthening the reputation of Case Western Reserve University as a top research institute and advancing the recruitment and training of Postdoctoral Researchers from around the world. |
The overall objective of the Postdoctoral Researchers Association is to represent its members within the Case Western Reserve University community. The Association’s mission will include:

Some of the activities that the PRA is responsible for are:
|
The Postdoctoral Researchers Association is guided by a Steering Committee made up of Full Members of the Association. Full Membership in the Postdoctoral Research Association will be limited to those individuals who are postdocs. |
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is currently recruiting postdocs who are interested in taking on a leadership role through the Postdoctoral Research Association (PRA). The past chair (Brian Hock) recently moved on to a teaching opportunity, leaving the PRA leadership role vacant. The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs provides shared office space for the PRA’s use, a budget and a membership seat on the National Postdoctoral Association. I hope that you will consider joining the PRA to help ensure the continued representation of postdoctoral issues on campus. If you are interested in assuming a leadership role and/or have an interest in serving on Faculty Senate Committees (University Libraries, Minority Affairs and Information Resources), please contact us by emailing Rachel Begley or by calling 368-439 |
