Grants and Fellowships

GENERAL INFORMATION

The rules and deadlines for grant nominations and proposals are announced each year by the Director of UCITE. Information on them can be obtained at any time by contacting the UCITE office.

Glennan Fellowships

Five Glennan Fellowships are awarded annually in the spring of each year. These awards are funded by an endowment established by T. Keith Glennan, a former President of the university, and awardees must be untenured tenure-track faculty members who show exceptional promise in both scholarship and teaching.

Learning Fellowships

Learning Fellowships are funded by the Provost's office and are open to all faculty members. These fellowships are semester long programs and usually twenty fellowships are awarded each semester.

Nord Grants

The Nord grants are funded by an endowment set up by a bequest from the family of Evan Nord. (These awards replace the Nord Fellowships that were at one time granted annually, depending on annual funding made available by the Nord family.)

Freedman Fellowships

Freedman Fellows are funded by Kelvin Smith Library.

Teaching Grants

Teaching grants are made available to faculty depending of the availability of other funds for this purpose. They are open to all faculty members.
