A team of consultant-evaluators from the Higher Learning Commission
visited the university on April 11-13, 2005. Team members met with
administrators, faculty, staff, and students as they conducted a
thorough examination of the university's self-study report and the
evidence gathered to support Case's continued accreditation.
The team prepared a report of its findings and submitted a
recommendation to the Commission regarding the university's
accreditation status. Case provided a formal written response to the
report, as required. After the report received an additional level of
review, the Commission voted to continue Case's accreditation for ten
years, the maximum period possible, with the next site visit
scheduled for 2015.
The Commission also adopted the team's recommendation that Case be
required to submit a progress report by December 1, 2008 on the
university's financial performance after the 2007-08 fiscal year. In
asking for a progress report, the team emphasized that it was not
concerned about Case's financial stability. Given the significant
investments undertaken as part of the university's vision plan,
however, the team thought it appropriate that the Commission receive
an update on the university's finances before the next ten-year
visit. The Commission will not be making any decision regarding
Case's accreditation status on the basis of this progress report.
The team report has two main sections:
- The Assurance Section presents the team's judgment on the extent to which Case fulfills each of the criteria for Accreditation. This section also provides the team's recommendation regarding continued accreditation.
-
The Advancement Section focuses on the university's future improvement and provides the team's observations on areas of accomplishment, areas deserving or requiring the university's attention, and any other areas as defined by either the team or by Case.
Access to the report is restricted to Case users.
