Championship Awards
Team Championship
The Team Champion will receive a championship trophy and certificates
for each member of the team. In addition, the school represented
will receive an automatic, free entry to next year's High School Celebrity
Shoot to defend its team championship.
The Team Runner-Up will also receive certificates for each member of
the team and an automatic, free entry to next year's High School Celebrity
Shoot.
If either the Champion or Runner-Up is composed of a mixed team of students
from many schools, a discount will be applied to all participating schools
represented on that team for next year's High School Celebrity Shoot, to be
determined by the Celebrity Shoot Organizers.
Individual championship
The Individual Champion will receive a championship medal, and the other three members of the Final Four will receive medals.
These prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the officials.
The Student Blooper Award
To be given to a participant who gives the most humorous answer with respect to the correct answer. Selected by members of the College Trivia Club.
The Paul Harvey Outstanding Freshman/Sophomore Awards
To the most outstanding freshman or sophomore competitor. As many as four such students may be so honored, with each recipient being awarded a trophy. Freshmen/sophomores that finish in the Final Four of the Individual Finals are ineligible.
The Chimera Award
To the members of the best team comprised of students from different schools established by the tournament directors at the start of the day. All four team members receive a trophy.
Decathlon Challenge Award
To the members of the best team with an active program in Academic Decathlon, excluding any such team that places in the top four.
The Joe Mantegna [not Montana] Sportsmanship Awards
Two awards will be given: one prize will be awarded to a participant that best exemplifies the spirit or enthusiasm of sportsmanship. The other prize will be awarded to a team that demonstrates similar qualities. Selection of both awards may be made by the tournament officials during or after the tournament.
