Peer Helpers are those that have been trained how to deal with many situations, from depression to AIDS awareness. But, more important than the training, the distinguishing feature of a Peer Helper is not that they can help, it's that they want to help. They are there to listen, give you a pat on the back or a shoulder to cry on. They're there when you need them.
In short, a Peer Helper is a friend.
