EXPLORING SPIRITUAL OPTIONS -- Once again, Ian Corrigan of ADF comes to CWRUPA to share his wisdom and insight into the worlds of spirituality. Mr. Corrigan has developed a nine-step system which he believes will help those exploring new faiths to determine if those beliefs are right for them or not. Learn ways to carefully and objectively determine your compatibility with the many varied religions of the world.

SEX AND SPIRITUALISM IN TRANSATLANTIC VICTORIAN SOCIETY -- Guest lecturer Al Dawson (MA Victorian History, Univ. of North Carolina) will explore gender issues relating to this movement by looking at its impact on a number of couples from Victorian times. Be prepared for anything. Levitation may or may not occur, but levity will be mixed with more serious thoughts. Designed to educate _and_ entertain, this lecture is not for the faint of heart or humor.

HERBALISM AND HEALTH -- Kent area community leader and noted herbalist, Lady Ygraine, tells CWRUPA members some of the benefits and ills of using herbs for self medication. Specific attention will be paid to what _not_ to do, in an effort to promote health and safety.

RITUAL TOOLS IN HISTORY ~ THE WAND WORKSHOP--This workshop will be a discussion of the history and uses of the wand as a ritual tool in some Western magickal traditions. Attendees are encouraged to share whatever knowledge they have on this subject. For those interested in making or finding a wand, there will be a field trip to a local park the following afternoon. Time and place for the field trip will be announced at Friday's workshop. Think about and/or gather any materials/construction tool needed for one's wand and bring them to the meeting friday. TAOISM -- Dr. William Deal, professor of religion and head of the Asian Studies Dept. here at CWRU, returns again this fall to discuss this ancient philosophy. This special event will be catered with sushi from the Ginza House in downtown Cleveland.

GUIDED MEDITATION -- Our president, Dusteen Richards, will lead the group in Chakra relaxation meditation to help alleviate that mid-semester stress. Herbal tea, soft music, and quiet conversation will start and finish the evening. (There's a rumor that some will do Tarot and Rune readings too :) )

CATCHING DREAMS (The design of dream-catchers) -- CWRUPA vice-president, Jen Childs, will teach our group the mechanics of making the dream catchers of Native American tradition. This will be a hands-on workshop. Either bring your own supplies ( A circle of solid metal or wood, string or thread, beads/feathers/etc for decoration), or e-mail our secretary with a request for supplies by October 4th. Space and supplies are limited, so register for this free workshop ASAP.

AFRICA TO AMERICA - MODERN VODUN (Voodoo) -- Local guide and priest, Carl Jones, will discuss the origins and practices of Vodun. Learn some truths about this often mis-represented religion, and the people who practice it today

ECCLECTIC WICCA -- Tired of trying to figure out what type of Wicca is the "real" Wicca? Confused about what the differences are between Gardnarian, Alexandrian, Dianic, and other types of Wicca? Just curious what those wacky pagans do late at night? This is the lecture to attend. Find out what Wicca really is, outside the images presented in the media.
