It holds full budgetary responsibility and sets meeting agendas) Assorted University Committees: Arts/Sciences curriculum (2), FS Libraries (1), FS Grad Studies (1), FS Research (1), UCI Parking (1) (contact Rich Charnigo, rjc12@po.cwru.edu, if interested) =============================== Motion # 2000.01 Sense of the Senate Regarding the End of Tuition Taxation Sponsors: John Martin (CorSec), Tom Hund (Tres), Raja Ghanem (BME) Whereas from 1995 until the recent past, some graduate student tuition awards were considered taxable income subject to paycheck withholding. And whereas this was a terrible burden for effected graduate students to bear. We wish to voice our overwhelming gratitude and thanks to Dean Jentoft, Dean Wagner, Dean Bassett, and other members of the administration for helping us through those trials and tribulations. And most of all we wish to thank President Auston whose selfless intervention in this matter proved to be the decisive turning point for improving the quality of life for all graduate students effected by tuition taxation withholding. On behalf of the graduate student body, the Graduate Student Senate thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. ============================== Motion #2000.02 Formation of Ad-hoc committee on the International Buddy Program Sponsors: Sathaporn Laksanacharoen (EME), Raja Ghanem (BME) Whereas the senate would like to explore the formation of an International Buddy program to pair domestic students with new international students to help orient them.
