Past Medical Student International Experiences
Each year, 25 to 30 Case medical students travel abroad for study and research. Some students do this during the summer after their first year of study, the only scheduled break in the four year curriculum; others take one or two months of senior year electives abroad. Most of these students travel to developing countries, and recent students have gone to many countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
A map identifying all locations visited can be viewed here.
Returning students are asked to document their experiences abroad and provide this information to the Center for Global Health and Diseases. Listed below are past experiences that were submitted by students traveling abroad, either after their first year or during their fourth year.
