The Community and Public Psychiatry Division
include the “Public Academic Liaison (PAL) Program,” a county-based
clinical service and teaching program; the state-supported “Mental
Health Executive Leadership Program,” a year-long business and
administration training program for mental health professionals;
and the annual “All-Ohio Institute on Community Psychiatry,”
a multidisciplinary continue education event dedicated to community
mental health services. PAL is funded through an annual contract
with the County Mental Health Board, while the Mental Health
Executive Leadership Program and All-Ohio Institute are partially
supported through Residency and Traineeship Grants from the
Ohio Department of Mental Health.
Additional collaboration in public sector mental
health service occurs through our partnership with Northcoast
Behavioral Healthcare System, the state psychiatric facility
serving this region; our Forensic Division training grants from
ODMH; and the Ohio SAMI Coordinating Center of Excellence, a
joint project of the Department and the Mental Health Research
Institute at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, supported
by a renewable grant from ODMH.
How to Apply
Applications for fellowship are made by residents
who have completed their third year of general psychiatry training.
