Xia Receives 2006 NIMH NCDEU New Investigator Award
Guohua Xia, MD, PhD is the
recipient of the 2006 NIMH NCDEU New Investigator Award.
This prestigious award is given by the Director of the
NIMH, Tom Insel, to young investigators with evidence
of special promise in clinical research.
Dr. Xia's research interest
focuses on the development of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
as a treatment for bipolar disorder. Dr. Xia joined the
Department of Psychiatry in October 2005 and is leading
the development of a research section on the use of Transcranial
Magnetic Stimulation to treat major depression and bipolar
disorder.
