Biography
Formerly the Medical Director of the American Red Cross Blood Services, Mid-Atlantic Region headquartered
in Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Harry Taylor joined the Department of Pathology as Director of the
Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine Service/Donor Center and Therapeutic Apheresis Service on August 1, 2006.
Just before coming to Cleveland, Dr. Taylor was also with the West Virginia University in Morgantown. There he served as the Director of Clinical Pathology, Director of Clinical Laboratories, Director of Blood Bank/Transfusion Services, Medical Director of the Medical Technology Program, and Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology. Previously he has also been an Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine and Dentistry at University of North Carolina--Chapel Hill and at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, as well as the Medical Director at the former Carolina Lowcountry Red Cross Blood Center in Charleston, SC. He also served as a Lieutenant Commander in the Marine Corps and Naval Reserves, once stationed at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center.
