STATEMENT OF RESEARCH AND SCIENTIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Research in my laboratory is focused on the role of iron, copper, and zinc in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative conditions. Current focus is on prion disorders, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. Interested candidates can decide on a specific project after familiarizing themselves with ongoing and future planned projects in the laboratory. Specific responsibilities include planning and execution of experiments, data analysis, and preparation of first draft of any manuscript(s) resulting from the data. He/she is also expected to trouble shoot technical difficulties and develop new methodologies to address the hypothesis in question.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Expertise in cell and molecular biology techniques and familiarity with mouse models.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILIES
Supervise junior scientists and students in the laboratory as needed.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Post-graduate training or a Ph.D degree in biological sciences or related subject areas.

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE
Commensurate with experience.
