Margaret Cicirella has held positions in clinical nutrition practice at the VA Hospital (Lebanon, PA), Mt. Sinai Hospital (Cleveland, OH), and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She served as a dietitian in the US Army, first on active duty and then as a member of an Army Reserve hospital unit.

She currently teaches several undergraduate nutrition courses: Nutrition in Disease, Guided Study in Nutrition Practice, and Child Development and Health, while also co-teaching the Pediatric Dentistry course for third-year dental students.
 

Professor Cicirella is Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics, an academic advisor for the undergraduate nutrition majors, and the faculty advisor to the Student Nutrition Association. She oversees the nutritional analysis of recipes for the Cleveland Plain Deale's weekly Food Section-a joint project between the Department of Nutrition and the Plain Dealer.

Professor Cicirella is a Fellow at the Center for Professional Ethics (CWRU), and has received the MA Degree in the Bioethics from CWRU School of Medicine's Center for Biomedical Ethics. She holds a secondary appointment in the School of Dentistry's Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
