Faculty

The legacy of the department began with Harland Wood’s discovery of carbon dioxide fixation. Subsequent investigators and alumni, such as Noble Laureate Paul Berg, have built upon this legacy. Research Environment

The Department of Biochemistry offers comprehensive education in both graduate and undergraduate programs. Strong emphasis is placed on individual training at all levels. Our graduates routinely go on to positions in both academia and the biotechnology industry worldwide.
