Faton Agani, MD/PhD

is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy whose research focuses on the regulation of Hypoxia Induclible Factor 1 (HIF-1), oxygen-sensing mechanisms in mammalian cells, mechanisms of cell death in oxygen-deprived cells, and the role of oncogene transformation and p53 activation in hypoxia-induced apoptosis.
