FULL TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS

The Mandel Center offers an array of scholarships and financial aid assistance in addition to these special full tuition scholarships, that will provide support based on merit and financial need. We will work with you to make your education as cost effective as possible!

Mandel Scholarship

Full-time applicants for the Master of Nonprofit Organizations (MNO) degree may qualify for a merit-based full tuition scholarship. To be considered for this award, you must:

  • Be an applicant for either the full-time MNO degree program or the full-time MNO-Executive Option.
  • Have outstanding academic credentials.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to a career in the nonprofit sector.
  • Possess high potential for leadership in the nonprofit sector.
  • Be applying for the Fall 2009 semester.

All finalists for this award will be required to participate in an interview process.

  • Interested applicants must submit all application materials required for the MNO by April 10, 2009. A separate scholarship application is not required. Simply indicate your desire to apply for the Mandel Scholarship on the top of the application form.
  • A GMAT score is required as part of the application process for the MNO. When registering for the GMAT, please choose Case Western Reserve University - Weatherhead School of Management - Master of Nonprofit Organizations, as the recipient of your score report. Your application is not considered complete until the official scores have been received by Case. It is important to note that it can take several weeks from the time that the test is taken to the time that the official scores are received by Case. Please plan accordingly so that your application is complete by April 10, 2009.
  • The scholarship decision will be made by May 6, 2009.
  • Case dual degree students are not eligible for the full tuition scholarships.
  • If the recipient of the full tuition scholarship is an international student, the recipient must obtain a United States visa by June 26th, 2009. A copy of the visa must be mailed or faxed to the Mandel Center by this date. In the event that the visa has not been obtained by this date, the award will be forfeited.
The (HUD) Naparstek Memorial Scholarship Fund

Full-time applicants for the Master of Nonprofit Organizations (MNO) degree may qualify for a full tuition scholarship through The (HUD) Naparstek Memorial Scholarship Fund. Applications are preferred from those who can demonstrate, through prior work or volunteer experience, a strong interest in community building, neighborhood revitalization and citizen engagement.

Arthur J. Naparstek was a professor and former Dean of the Case School of Applied Social Sciences (now the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences). Professor Naparstek worked for over four decades in neighborhood revitalization through educational activities and community work both in the United States and Israel. He was instrumental in the creation of several national programs, including the federal Hope VI program, and The Corporation for National Service. Professor Naparstek had a special interest in community building through the engagement of neighborhood constituents in the planning and development of their communities.

This is a merit-based full tuition scholarship for each of the two years in the full-time program. To be considered for this award, you must:

  • Be an applicant for either the full-time MNO degree program or the full-time MNO-Executive Option.
  • Have been residing outside of the state of Ohio or internationally prior to matriculation.
  • Have a strong academic record.
  • Possess high potential for leadership in the nonprofit sector.
  • Be applying for the Fall 2009 semester.

The Arthur J. Naparstek Scholarship Fund

Full-time applicants for the Master of Nonprofit Organizations (MNO) degree may qualify for a full tuition scholarship through The Arthur J. Naparstek Scholarship Fund. Preference will be given to applicants who are citizens of the State of Israel.

Arthur J. Naparstek was a professor and former Dean of the Case School of Applied Social Sciences (now the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences). Professor Naparstek worked for over four decades in neighborhood revitalization through educational activities and community work both in the United States and Israel. As past Chairman of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland's Partnership 2000, Professor Naparstek played a key role in strengthening the economic base of the Northern Israeli city of Beit She'an and the surrounding region. He also served as Senior Vice President for the United Jewish Communities (UJC) where he helped connect North American Jewish Federations with Israel and Jewish communities throughout the world.
