Cleveland provides an ideal laboratory for students who study nonprofit organizations and management. There are over 3,000 nonprofit organizations in Cleveland that have a rich history of excellence. There is an especially strong nonprofit sector in the arts (theatre and museums), community development, social services (focusing on children and the aging population), health care (from small clinics to major hospitals), and philanthropic private and community foundations. These organizations continue to build on a long tradition of innovative nonprofit activity.
